provided me a lot of inspiration to keep up the practice of
writing. Besides that, she also revised the book “the Kaaba’
thoroughly with great attention in spite of her bustle life. In
some places of the book she made correction with accurate
words so tactfully in other to make the writing more attractive,
to the readers of “the Kaaha’. She also removed passages from
the book that seemed to be irrelevant to the Kaaba and
suggested to me what shoufd be put there instead. However.
without the collaboration of her skilful hand. 1 would. I think.
never be accomplished in doing the mammoth task as writing a
book.
There is an anecdote behind writing ‘the Kaaba” which
brings me again to Mrs. Kim. already introduced to you as
Umm-Shamsudduha. to thank her earnestly. Once. | playfully
wrote an article on © the Kaaba” in a limited number of words.
perhaps no more than three thousands or so. | tried to include all
the significant information about * the Kaaba ° in it as well as
possible. But “the Kaaba © is so wide-ranging a subject to
discuss that. it was quite insufficient details of the House in the
brief writing. When | sent the article to Mrs. Kim for revision.
she made me surprised that 1 could not but burst out
laughing and said to myself whispering: “ O my God. Ihave got
a fantastic tor: she will never let me give up the work
(writing) nor will let me go home until she sees me as a
published) writer!” However. the converted lady (from
Christianity to Islam) in some places of the work. made
corrections all over it with great care. ▲
